We stayed at the Valley of the Rocks for the weekend.
The Valley of the Rocks is one of the most dramatic places we have stayed. With its harsh but beautiful landscape, there really is nowhere better. You can stay overnight in the top car park for a small charge. The local cricket team were playing a match, which was very entertaining and made a pleasant evening.
Sunday we went to Lynton and Lynmouth, two small towns top and bottom of a large cliff linked by a cliff railway, which we had to go on. There are lots of shops, tearooms and restaurants here, not to mention the lovely views across the sea and up the river. On Monday we went to Exmoor zoo. We love zoos and go to lots but this one is awful, the admission is high and the cages are so full of weeds that you can’t actually see most of the animals in them. We wouldn’t recommend this zoo to any one. We didn’t stay long.
