Technology Frustrations

The biggest and most unexpected frustration for us so far is charging the laptop. Without this, Nik can’t work. We are indeed suffering technology frustrations.

I managed to download the anti-virus with a little cheating. I took the laptop to Marisa’s house and did it off her internet. One has to do these things. So the next problem had been charging it. We bought a brand new, all singing, all dancing inverter which just doesn’t seem to want to charge the laptop. Apparently, you can run power tools off it. I can’t even run a set of curling tongues.

Nik was suffering from a mass of technology frustrations. He reads full-timer forums and knows you don’t need to be on a site with electric hook-ups to charge a laptop. We’d been to PC World before we bought the new inverter and asked if they sell in-car chargers only to be told that they don’t exist. Apparently, a car battery couldn’t cope with it.

We thought this was wrong, but if they don’t sell them then they don’t. Hence the reason we went to Halfords to get a new inverter. We came to the conclusion that there must be a problem with this particular inverter so took it back and got another one. Well, this didn’t work either. However, we did manage to charge the laptop at Marisa’s house so Nik had a search on the forums and funnily enough people use in car charges. We have always dislike PC World as their lack of knowledge about products they say they are experts in is terrible. Anyway, Nik had ordered a universal charger from eBay and the inverter is going back.

Everything else is going smoothly though and we have had some lovely walks in-between the frustration. Nik is having fun with the photos of the beautiful scenery and flowers in the area.
