St Catherine's Castle. surfboat racing

Surfboat racing at Watergate Bay.

Went to Watergate Bay on Saturday to photograph the surfboat racing.

This is a great extreme water-sport to watch. The crews have to battle hard to get the boats over the waves. It rained on and off all day so we headed south to find better weather. We ended up at Par Sands Beach and stayed for the night in the beach car park. There were a few boy racers early on but they stayed to the other end of the car park. Sunday we went to Fowey which is stunning town on the bank of the River Fowey. It is a very busy place with lots of tourists. There was a cruise ship visiting which didn’t help. We spent the night at Par beach again and had a BBQ on the beach for dinner.
