We got up late so left home at 11.30am and drove to Landacre Bridge on Exmoor. Had lunch and then went for a short walk. Serena decided we did not want to stay there for the night so we drove on to near Winsford Punchbowl on the B3223. It’s a lovely spot on the moor. I went for a walk to the punchbowl it has great views. We had tea and I managed to spill a glass of red wine over Serena. played games and had an early night. Katie found she had forgotten her pyjamas and had to wear Serena’s.
30th July 2012
After breakfast, we headed to Glastonbury. On the way, we stopped off at Clarks village in Street. A very nice shopping centre, we looked around a few charity shops on the high street. Serena bought a pair of trousers and a book. I bought a couple of T-shirts and Marisa bought a DVD.
We found a campsite at Bridge Farm, West Bradley. A lovely farm with a view of Glastonbury Tor in the distance. Serena and I went for a walk along the bridal paths around the site which are really nice to walk around and saw lots of butterflies and grass hoppers. We had a BBQ for dinner the first of the year! We watched several people arrive with tents who struggled to put them up. It entertained us for hours, we love having a campervan. Spent the evening playing games and went to sleep listening to the rain on the roof.
31st July 2012
Light rain when we woke up. After breakfast, we went to Glastonbury and looked around the shops. We love Glastonbury it is so unique all the different types of shops and people. We then went on to Shepton Mallet. It didn’t look great so we didn’t stop but drove on to Wells. It was still raining lightly when we arrived. Had a wonder around the shops and brought a baking tray for a roast dinner tonight. Wells had a lot of decorated swans dotted all around the city. All individually decorated for a charity tourist trail, they were really good. We returned to the camp site and had dinner then Serena and I went for a walk while the girls washed up. Spent the evening playing games.
1st August 2012
Made the mistake of letting Katie in the bathroom first so we were late setting off. Topped up with water and later found out that the water tastes unpleasant. We drove to Watchet and Blue Anchor Bay but raining heavily so we didn’t stop but definitely worth returning to on a nicer day. We went on to Minehead I got some photos of the steam trains and we had a walk around the shops before heading to Foreland Point on Exmoor for the night.
