Known as ‘The City of Dreaming Spires’ the City of Oxford is the 52nd largest city in the UK and is home to the world famous Oxford University. Oxford has been a home to royalty and scholars for over 800 years and was established as a town in the 9th century.

These days the city is a busy cosmopolitan town, home to a growing hi-tech community. There is so much to do here. Visit the historic buildings, museums or colleges, have a drink, go for a meal or do some shopping in the large town center.

And if that’s not enough wander along the banks of the river Thames.

We thoroughly enjoyed wondering the city and visiting all the old buildings with a small amount of shopping. There is so much to see and take in it’s best not to limit yourself to one day.
