St John’s College Bridge of Sighs, River Cam, Cambridge, UK

Cambridge is a university city on the banks of the river Cam.  Home of the University of Cambridge, founded in 1209 and one of the top five universities in the world. The university includes the Cavendish Laboratory, King’s College Chapel, and the Cambridge University Library. The Cambridge skyline is dominated by the last two buildings, along with the spire of the Our Lady and the English Martyrs Church, the chimney of Addenbrooke’s Hospital and St John’s College Chapel tower.

There is so much to do here. The biggest attractions are the colleges which you can look around, (just check they don’t have exams on when you plan to visit as they are closed then). Punting along the backs on the river is fun, there are also many museums, restaurants, loads of theatre productions, markets in the main square everyday and the list goes on.

We love towns and citys like this as they are filled with so much history and would highly recommend Cambridge as a great place to base yourself for a week or two.
