Seaton is a small seaside town in East Devon, part of the Jurassic Coast. It has a small town centre and because it is such a popular tourist destination we were a bit disappointed with the lack of touristy shops. The beach is a mile long pebble beach with an esplanade most of the way along the top of the beach which makes walking easier, we were surprised how few people were on the beach. At the far east end of the beach is the River Axe estuary and the yacht club. Above the beach is the cliff top public garden, which is nice and peaceful. In it there is a labyrinth on the ground, which would be fun for younger children, our teenagers weren’t to impressed.
As you drive into Seaton follow the signs for the beach car park. Its a large car park next to Tesco’s, the Tourist information and the tram station. The tram runs between Seaton and Colyton along the Axe Valley, travelling alongside the River Axe estuary through the nature reserve
